Sincerely Hope is a teen volunteer organization under the jurisdiction of CAAOC (Chinese American Association of Orange County) and CPAOC (Chinese Parents Association of Orange County). The mission is to redefine the new Chinese-American from self-centered to the service-centered generation. The function is to provide variety of community service opportunities to teens in Orange County, so we can dedicate our time and effort to reach out for the people who need help and care.

The organizational structure of Sincerely Hope has two main branches – High School branch and Junior High branch, each is run by four core members, who are the president, the vice president, the secretary/treasurer, and the historian/photographer. The leaders are elected by members on the annual basis. As the number of member grow, each branch may split into smaller branches based on grade level and/or gender.

Sincerely Hope holds monthly meeting as well as random minor activities, such as variety volunteer activities throughout Orange County, and regular major activities, such as fundraising events, normally at bi-monthly basis.

Since its initial meeting at the beginning of summer of 2012, Sincerely Hope already involved four different volunteer activities throughout entire Orange County.  The first one is the Adopt-a-Park at Peter’s Canyon Regional Park, we helped the rangers to clean the weeds on the trails. The second one is clean trash for six parks and two schools in Woodbridge community. The third one is iTRY-athlon for organizing athletic events. The fourth one is helping Think Together, a non-profit organization, repairing used books for local schools and libraries. The future events already planned out include Festival of Children, Feed the Hunger, Christmas Shoeboxes and etc.

         Let’s redefine our generation!!

Mission Statements:
       Redefine the new Chinese-American from a self-centered to a service-oriented generation.

Sincerely Hope is a teen volunteer service group that provides community service for students from 6th grade-12th grade. The group belongs to a non-profit organization called Chinese-American Association of Orange County. The purpose of this group will be to provide community service in various different activities to give back to our community. The group will be separated into two sections: one for middle school and one for high school.

Service Hours: Each member is required to complete at least 25 service hours. There will be two types of service events. One type is the major event and the other is minor event. There will be an average of six to eight big events per year. Some major events include talent show, bake sale, garage sale, and etc. Attendance to all major events is mandatory for all members. If a member fails to attend at least two of the eight major events, then they will not be able to receive an award at the yearly award assembly. The minor events will take place either once a week or once in a few weeks on a regular basis. These minor events are not mandatory and are available to all members who sign up for the event.

Meetings: There will be one meeting per month for the leadership committee: President, Vice President, Secretary/Photographer, and Treasurer. For all other group members, there will be a short 10 minute meeting before each major event. Failure to attend the meetings for the leadership committee will result in a demotion from their position.

Membership: Fill out the application form and send it to the President of the club. See https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dE1zOE9ZVUhrcUowQ3YwQ2V2NnpZTGc6MQ for the application form.

Leadership: There will be four leading positions in each group: the President, the Vice President, the Secretary/Photographer, and the Treasurer. The leadership committee will meet to discuss major events and minor events for the entire group to participate in. The President and the Vice President will lead each meeting and share the responsibilities to lead the group. The secretary will take notes at each meeting and take photographs of each event we volunteer at. The secretary will also be in charge of keeping track of each member’s hours. Treasurer will keep track of the money we earn from fundraisings and other major events.
